4 SGM Curriculum

Most of the fourth year is presented as a core curriculum. However, 1/4 to 1/3 of the cohort is taking part in an exchange program abroad.
The training is still general and includes 3 fields, but is more focused on “materials” than the 3rd year.

General engineering classes

  • Surfaces - interfaces - adhesion
  • Strength of materials
  • Non-destructive testing
  • Finite elements computing
  • Experimental design

Classes more materials oriented

  • Metallurgy
  • Semiconductor devices and materials
  • Polymer materials
  • Ceramics
  • Introduction to composite materials
  • Materials corrosion and durability
  • Mechanical behavior of materials

Humanities

  • Languages
  • Industrial knowledge and strategies
  • Athletics

The fourth year is the heart of the materials training:

All the materials are studied: polymers, metals, ceramics, composites, semiconductors, nanotechnologies.

Processing, mechanical, chemical and functional properties, applications.
